Iris Greenwell was born in Panama City, Panama. She moved to Oklahoma in 1997. Her love for nature and landscape photography has been a part of her life since childhood. She was brought up and encouraged by her parents to explore and enjoy it.Now, she specializes in outdoor and nature photographer and has 10 years of experience in these areas. Iris' appreciation for colors, shapes and texture developed over the years. She likes to capture mood, mystery and beauty in her pictures.
Iris Greenwell worked as a freelance photographer, educator and digital technician in the Oklahoma area. She is currently teaching digital photography classes at the Southern Oklahoma Technology Center in Ardmore.
She has also has had several solo and group fine art exhibits and juried art shows such as 2007 Ziergle's Gallery Exhibit in Tulsa,OK; 2008 Rooster Days Festival in Broken Arrow,OK; 2007 Juried Art Show " Art on Main" in Jenks, OK; 2009 Sant Depo Museum Photo Exhibit in Pauls Valley, OK; and recently in 2009 Goddard Center 40th Annual Juried Exhibit in Ardmore,OK.
Her photographs are in communities guides and visitor guides in Oklahoma such as 2009 Pauls Valley Chamber of Commerce Community Guide and 2009 South Central Oklahoma's Arbuckle Country Visitor Guide. She was recently asked to shot the cover of the 2010 South Central Oklahoma Arbuckle Country Visitor Guide which goes around the Oklahoma state as well as the 2010 cover of the Pauls Valley Chamber of Commerce Community Guide.
More than just a photographer, Iris is a dedicated teacher with passion for sharing her knowledge to help others to see the beauties of nature and develops their own personal vision and to master their digital photography skills. She's currently member of to the Nature Photographers Network, the Garvin County Camera Club in Pauls Valley and the North American Nature Photography Association ( NANPA)and Pauls Valley Chamber of Commerce since 2008.
